Iʼve raised £450 to Help with any uninsured losses / costs relating to the theft of tools from DIY SOS Billy's van whilst volunteering his time on a project.

Story
Whilst on site at a DIY SOS project in Chislehurst, South-East London in October 2018, Billy's van was broken into and all his tools stolen. There will be uninsured losses & damage. Some of his tools date back fifty years and have sentimental value that simply can't be replaced.
Billy is a stalwart of the DIY SOS team and as they do SO much good work for the community this is an opportunity for us to thank them in a meaningful way.
(Any excess raised will be donated to registered charities nominated by Billy!)

6 years agoHuge thanks to everyone who has donated! It turns out a second fundraiser was started simultaneously (on a different platform) for the same reason & between us we have now reached the £1000 we set out to raise. Having spoken to Nick Knowles I am assured that £1000 will be sufficient to sort Billy's uninsured losses out (as he has also had several offers of replacement tools from companies too) and so I am now closing this appeal. Thank you all again! It really is appreciated by the whole DIY SOS team!

I know how Billy feels, my sons van was stolen with all his tools and his dads. They had sentimental value.

When Lockerbie Men's Shed was broken into, all my gear was nicked, lovely people from the local and wider community stepped in to help replace them.Can't give much today but I hope this helps a bit
