Story
My father Derek Hayes sadly passed away this week after a long battle with cancer. His courage and determination throughout his illness was remarkable; until quite recently he was still coming into the store and taking an active part in the day to day life running the store. He was quite rightly hugely proud of all that he achieved in the 70 years he devoted to his furniture business TR Hayes in Bath, and was much respected in the local community as well as in the furniture industry. He will be greatly missed.
He supported many charities over the years, and was grateful for the amazing support given by Dorothy House and the health care system in recent months. I would like to help Dorothy House in return and have created this Just Giving page in memory of my father.
The TR Hayes website has a short biography and more details about my father on the 'Our Story' page: trhayes.co.uk

Wonderful man, devoted to his family, his business, Bath, and according to the choice of hymns at his funeral, his country. I'm quite sure he's already sold St Peter a lovely sofa. RIP Derek.
