Hi all! An update as the year comes to an end, and the biggest news is the new cylinder block has returned from machining and is currently sat in the frames! All fits well and we now need to get it correctly aligned in the right position. The wheels have also returned and are ready to have the axleboxes fitted in preparation for going back under the frames. The boiler has the new outer wrapper sheet bolted on, and just needs the radius forming before it can be fully fitted. A lot of components have been cleaned and painted ready for fitting!

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted an update for a while! We have ordered the majority of all the components needed for the overhaul of the chassis, the new cylinders have been cast and are away for machining, with the wheel sets. We ordered 6 new underkeeps for the axleboxes, they have been delivered last week. The springs have been away for overhaul and are ready for refitting. The replacement frame work is complete and is ready for riveting! Please help to continue to support our appeal and to get the loco back in steam for 2024!

Thankyou to everyone who has supported us so far! The project is moving at an incredible pace, the loco is almost fully stripped down, with just the wheels, axle boxes and springs left to remove from the frames, and the boiler has had one side of the outer firebox removed! The boiler has turned out to be in an even better condition than we anticipated, the internal condition is remarkable! The only large problem we have discovered is a crack in the left hand cylinder bore, this is repairable, just a higher cost than originally anticipated.
