I've raised £1869 to The Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust Football Memories Programme

Hi folks,
Ian Reid and I will be completing the great Scottish half Marathon on the 29th September raising funds and awareness for dementia/Alzheimer’s disease. This disease has touched our hearts and our families have both experienced it.
All funds raised will go to Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust – The Community Charity of Kilmarnock F.C. The KCST have their own Dementia Programme called Football Memories ran monthly by them.
The ‘Football Memories’ programme is focused on our older generation and dementia suffers. The KCST produce presentations and invite special guests to talk about football memories of yesteryear reminiscing of all events Kilmarnock and Scottish football. It is a wonderful 2-hour long afternoon with tea and coffee provided along with a half time Killie pie!
The session brings the memories flowing back to the attendees and allows them to enjoy an interaction they wouldn’t normally get at home.
The KCST are also a fantastic pillar of the East Ayrshire community and they focus on aligning to the following mission statement.
“Our aim and objectives are to promote participation within sport and the community whilst developing individuals from young to old. The KCST look to engage and inspire the local community through sport by providing a variety of diversionary and all-inclusive programmes as well as raising awareness of sporting events throughout Ayrshire. KCST will use sport as a tool for promoting the following topics: health and wellbeing, citizenship, employability and social inclusion.”
