Story
Hello :)My Name is Dean Prentice, I've recently turned 28 years young :) and, well ...here's my story.
In December 2018 I was diagnosed with Bowl Cancer which my consultant had told me had advanced to other organs in the body. As you can imagine this news was heartbreaking.
I began chemotherapy treatment quickly and have been on treatment ever since. In June 2019 I had an extensive opperation which took out the primary tumour along with any additional spots of cancer away. Within a few weeks I was back at work:) continuing to persevere through the pain and get back to enjoying life :)
Unfortunately in early 2020, I had a CT scan which revealed that the Cancer had returned in my Liver..... so...... I cried.... cried ..... and cried a bit more. Although it has been difficult I have brushed myself down and continued more treatment which has been tough (to say the least) but like so many other people who have been affected I'm still here :)
In June 2020 I spoke with my consultant who informed me that I needed further treatment in my kidneys. He told me that there is a drug which will help preserve and maximise the quality of my Kidneys. Unfortunately they cannot operate on them but will treat them.
This drug is not available on the NHS and instead needs to be bought privately. In our conversation I was told the cost of the drug is £1,500 per sitting. I will need two treatments a month alongside the chemotherapy and will need to have this for a minimum of 4months...
My life right now S U C K S. However... I'm still here :) and I would love nothing more than to continue being here for as long as possible BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!
I know the current climate financial hardship is upon us. And believe me.... I feel embarrassed to ask for any money. However it's got to be done.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated in order to help contribute for me to get the treatment and allow me to continue to spend quality time with you all.
Thank you!
