As with many companies DCS have chosen to focus on helping a couple of Charities, one of them being the Luna Animal Rescue (charity number 1163839).

Luna re-home dogs, cats and small animals who are abandoned or find themselves without a family. They have a non-destruct policy (they will not put down a healthy well-balanced animal), and all animals that are re-homed through Luna have a lifetime of rescue backup. If an animal has or develops behavioural issues, or the adoptive family's circumstances change they offer guidance & support - the commitment by the organisation doesn't end with adoption. Luna uses foster families mainly in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire to look after their animals until an adoptive family can be found. Their foster families provide vital information during assessment of their animals, and provide lots of ongoing training, love and input whilst animals are with them, and after adoption if required.

All of the human input & commitment for Luna is voluntarily given, and to this end we wanted to take away some of the burden of fundraising from these wonderful volunteers.

We’ve tried to think of something we like to do and/or are good at… but were stumped! 🤣 But then we realised we do actually have an interest in music; some of us have family members in bands past and present, and we even have a few members of staff who are hiding their lights beneath bushels!

So we’ve come up with the idea of putting on a local charity fiesta sponsored by DCS on Saturday 6th July. The Fox & Duck pub in Stotfold have kindly offered their grounds, a marquee (well it is England!) and bouncy castles free of charge, and all the acts have donated what will no doubt be some wonderful performances to help us ensure that as much money as possible goes to Luna. We will also have a DJ throughout the day to help keep the vibe going as well as number of stalls, a raffle and hot food.
