Story

As we look ahead to 2026 it’s time again to once again ask for your help.

Why does Daylight Music matter? In an ever-changing world our series is a musical hug, a pause in the week, a place to experience joy and wonder. For this to continue we once again ask our community of friends, family, audiences and artists for some support.

A wonderful, warm feeling of community and openness. A chance to explore new music genres and meet people from all walks of life who share the same passion for music, tea and cake! – Grace (Kensal Rise)

In what continues to be a challenging time for live music we once again open a Crowdfunder to continue the fundraising for our Winter/Spring seasons in 2026. It’s the most direct way for anyone to support or perhaps give us a financial thumbs up for a past event you’ve particularly cherished.

I didn't know anything about Daylight Music. what a wonderful project!!’ - Sakiko (West London)

‘I like it :] it's relaxing and you can fall asleep to it’ - Duncan 12 years old (Islington)

We have been lucky that the series has been supported in the past by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants. At present the outcome of our latest attempt is unknown and even if successful it cannot be our only source of income so we have to find money from multiple places whether that be from door income, café profits or merchandise.

We need to raise money in advance so we can hire the venue, bring in a sound system with a van to transport it, and pay an experienced engineer who will set it up and pack it down. Then there are all the weeks of preparation to make the events as good as they can be. We also want to make sure we can financially compensate our musicians for their time and transport, which cannot come just from the Pay-What-You-Can door entry.

As emerging artists, the chance to perform outside our home city for the first time was a really exciting opportunity, and to play as part of such a well-established platform made it all the more special. Thanks for having us’ - Amulet

‘Being in this space feels like being transported into a place where creativity and love can bloom and nothing else matters. This was so healing - thank you’ – Advaita London

Whatever the weather, whatever is going in the world or your life we’ve been there – and with some help from this fundraiser we will continue to do so in our 17th year.

Thank you for reading and supporting,
