Manx Adventure Swim Against Suicide.IOM

Isle Stand up to Suicide is a Telephone helpline for people who are Suicidal and reach out for help on the Isle of Man. It is run by volunteers who are trained to answer calls and to signpost the callers to appropriate support.

It’s the only Suicide prevention charity on the Isle of Man!!!!!

I volunteered to answer the telephone calls and undertook the training but due to my close personal experiences with Suicide I was not able to continue to volunteer as a call taker.

I did make a promise to the founders of that charity Paula Dunlop and Ali Vondy that I would swim and raise funds for them. So this is my way of helping this much needed charity. I hope you will join with me and support them to. I’ve been training all winter to get ready for the challenge.

In the summer I plan to swim solo around the Isle of Man towing a raft with all the food/equipment/ safety and camping gear I will need for the swim. I will just need a weather window of 4-5 days to complete the challenge. Im hoping to swim around 20 miles a day to complete the swim

As far as I am aware this has never been done before.
