What's the quickest way of dispersing a crowd?
Take a collection!
On September 3 I'm going to run twelve miles from one end of a remote Scottish island to another. Why? Because I care passionately about the cause - mental health in the community - and I want to raise money for the Orkney Blide Trust - a charity devoted to its members which provides personalised support to people who are suffering emotionally.
I've spent 30 years working in the NHS, a lot of that in mental health and learning disability services, much of it for children. Charities like the Orkney Blide Trust need your support to help very vulnerable people recover and live fulfilling lives. Please help; it could very easily be you.

8 years agoMany thanks everyone who supported me. I loved doing the Bisgeos Run /Walk and am thrilled to have raised money for The Blide Trust. I'm just disappointed there was no wooden spoon trophy available for me at the end! Thanks again Love David

I've spent 30 years working in the NHS, often in mental health and learning disability services, frequently for children. I've seen the difference that small, well-run charities can make to people at the worst time of their lives.
