    Story

The Village Christmas Tree for 2024 is going up on 23rd November to be ready to switch on and celebrate the start of Christmas for Levens on Sunday 24th November2024

We have - music from Coldharbour Road with supper from Yonder Pizza's, mulled wine and mince pies from The Lakeland Chef, Handmade Coffee, chocolate and tipsy treats from 'A Word in your Ear' Christmas Cake Raffle and dozens of sweet treats from Plants on the Green and much more

Setting up stalls and music from 3pm to get going before 4pm and then a countdown and lights switch on at 5.00pm.

The new LED lights purchased in 2021, are both spectacular and economical to run. Paul has worked out, the amount of time they are on, for the number of days, with a timer, it will cost less than £20 for electricity.

Thanks to Dave and Vanessa at the Shop for their usual community minded spirit and for facilitating the electricity connection. Please remember to donate what you can via donation buckets on the night, into the donations box at Levens Shop or online via the Just Giving Page

All our stall holders and caterers are also supporting our Tree Fund by giving donations from their takings on the day.

We are aware everyone’s living costs are growing, but we do appreciate all the donations the community gives to acknowledge the work, time and effort, that goes into the tree for all to enjoy. Any excess donations after costs will be split between small, local groups in Levens.

Please give whatever you are able.

We hope you all enjoy the tree and send best wishes to everyone for a happy, peaceful, restful Christmas.

Helen, Michael, Paul, Kevin, Dave & James
