Story

Stu, Carl and myself have stupidly said we’d have a dry January. So in order to make it worthwhile we’ve decided to try and raise funds for one of the our players from our club Hook and Odiham RFC.

Danny Thompson’s son Enzo is 5 years old and he has cerebral palsy. He can’t hold his head up without support, sit up by himself, roll, crawl or stand. He is unable to eat and is fed via a tube. Enzo has yet to develop any speech.

Stem cell treatment offers a ray of hope for Enzo. It is a potentially life changing treatment. It is hoped that the treatment will enable Enzo to develop some of the basic skills that he has yet to acheive. Hopefully the treatment will help him progress in his physical ability. The damage to Enzo's brain means he is unable to process the signals that his brain is sending to his body, hence the lack of mobility. Stem cell treatment is a way of repairing and replacing these damaged cells. The treatment would then enable the specialist to work with Enzo to help him strengthen his muscles and encourage his brain to co-ordinate with the rest of his body. Long term it is we hoped that the treatment will offer their son a better quality of life and the chance to be free and independent.

You must agree this is a great cause and with any donation from our friends and family we will hopefully raise some funds which will be of benefit to Enzo and his family.

Thank you in advance for supporting the three of us but more importantly helping a young child have a better quality of life....
