July12th Edit. Steve just txt from hospital regarding the results of his scan. It's good news - the tumour is now smaller than it was on the previous test so treatment and his positive attitude are working!

On July 16th I wiill be tackling the UK Iron Man event - a 2.4 swim, a 112 mile bike and a marathon - all with time cut offs. I've never even done a marathon or a triathlon, so I am not prepared for what's ahead. I am trying the single hardest one off endurance event to raise money for a great friend....

Whilst away on their anniversary celebration last year Ste and his wife Katheryn saw their lives change forever. During this trip, despite being fit, Ste suffered several seizures, leading to a collapsed lung and an emergency rush to hospital.

He learned later that the cause of this was a cancerous brain tumour which was diagnosed as Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). GBM is a particularly aggressive variety and is referred to as “The Terminator” due to its aggressive nature and resistance to current NHS medical treatment.

The median survival rate is between 6 to 18 months from initial diagnosis of GBM. Various “Non NHS” treatment options have been researched and immunotherapy in particular is giving us all real hope for Ste’s survival.

Ste has been a passionate charity supporter and fundraiser for the nine years that I have known him, and is a Trustee for the Steve Prescott Foundation. He's supported many others and now we're trying to support him.

Funds raised will be used to support Ste in his ongoing treatment!
