Story

Shan Elding and 4 close friends of his Doc, Dan, Dean & Gav will be tackling the 24 hour 3 peak challenge on the 13th July 2019 Hiking and climbing Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon in whatever conditions are thrown at them in order to challenge themselves and raise money for Charlestown Primary School to build a sensory area for the use of children experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. Having an area for a child to go to they can associate with a safe space is hugely important especially for children with additional needs and so this sensory area will allow a child to feel safe, supported, calm, and able to continue to thrive in an environment that meets their needs. Having a child recently diagnosed with additional needs who now attends Charlestown we feel the school have gone above and beyond to help settle and support our son with amazing teachers and a fantastic perspective of the management of emotional and behavioural difficulties therefore we would like to give back to help other children thrive and succeed in school as our son is now doing.
