Steve is a popular face in Billericay - everyone knows him from his shop 'Moore's shoe repairs' in Holly Court. He is always smiling and doing favours for everyone - often not taking any money for the 'little jobs' he does.

Unfortunately Steve has been ill and having treatment so is unable to work at the moment. Having posted this on the Billericay discussion page himself, he had such a huge response that I felt us people of Billericay clearly wanted to help - so set the ball rolling.

Having asked the people of Billericay this seemed to be the most popular option meaning that we can make a difference now.

Steve is a proud man and would no doubt be mortified that we are doing this, but he is so well thought of and I know a lot of people feel that it is our time to pay back those 'little favours' that he has done for so many of us over the years.

This will hopefully help ease the pressure financially as whilst Steve is unable to work his shop and house still need paying for and being sole carer for his grown up children, its one less thing that they as a family will have to deal with. At the moment Steve is paying for his milkshake drinks/meal replacements and taxi's which hopefully will be taken care of as part of his ongoing treatment going forwards. But for now, I like so many other people that know Steve would like to help in some small way.
