Story

Dana is a well known and loved member of the Old Trafford community having lived and worked here for many years. All of her three children attended Seymour Park Primary School and she was a well known face in the school playground. Dana took care of lots of local children throughout her years as a childminder. She has now established a career as a passionate, brilliant and highly regarded yoga teacher. Above all else Dana is a mum to her three children Maya, Eve and Finn, who are the centre of her world.

Dana’s son Finn, 11, started secondary school only last week. Very sadly, he was involved in a serious accident in Seymour Park when he fell from a tree. Finn has been in paediatric intensive care at the Manchester Royal Children’s Hospital since the accident, where he was in an induced coma for several days. Although Finn is now awake, he has suffered a massive brain injury and the long term prognosis is unclear. Finn, Dana and the rest of the family have a long and difficult journey ahead of them.

As a self employed yoga teacher, if Dana doesn’t she doesnt teach, she doesn’t get paid. Since the accident Dana hasn‘t left Finn’s bedside and as such has had no income. She may not be able to return to work for some time.

As a parent, I can’t imagine how awful it must be for Dana and the rest of her family to be living this nightmare. They don’t need the added stress of worrying about money and paying the bills. I have set up this page so that anyone who knows Dana and Finn and would like to help financially, while Dana is by Finn’s bedside and unable to work, can contribute.
