Story

My daughter Emily smashes the stereotypes around our disabled children. She has won the National Diversity Award for Positive Role Model for age and campaigns relentlessly for her community, the disabled community.

Emily like ALL disabled children however, still sit on the periphary of society. Ignored by many, seen as just charity cases and frustrated at the lack of visible, relatable characters in the mediums they all adore... comics, books and television.

This is something the Department Of Ability wants to redress. All children deserve Heroes! I have written and illustrated a 240 page graphic novel around the adventures of her and her four disabled sidekicks. Pawsy, the cheetah with a hyper-powered running blade, Azzi, the extra-terrestrial with a bionic prosthetic, Billy the K9 with his carbon wheels and multi-functional tail and finally Claypole, the visually impaired spectre.

They are all: "Born to be different..born to save the world!!"

By donating to this project you will be helping to usher in a new era of inclusion for the worlds 93 million disabled children.. and all their friends.

I have already managed to self-publish the first 44 pages of this inclusive, fun, action packed, funny and dramatic comic changing behemoth... but I need to raise the rest to finally make the media look and wake up to the power, fun and accessibility of..

Disability.
