Iʼve raised £3,515 to help refurbish our local ‘Heart of the community cafe’ Dale End Cafe - Ironbridge. Totally ruined by 2 devastating floods within 2 days

    Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge
Funded on Monday, 31st August 2020

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

    Thanks for reading

It’s me Telford’s Charity Angel - frantically flying high causing a Julie storm

I normally raise funds for local charities. This ‘Julie Mission’ is of a slightly different nature

Due to the recent storms I’m sure you’re all aware of the horrendous damage caused all over the UK. Near to my home devastating damage caused to many homes & businesses in Ironbridge.

Telford have huge hearts one things that apparent when the ‘dirt’ hits the fan everyone comes together. It’s our home & forever protect it

2 friends of mine Sharon & Chris Harrison have had their business & lives turned upside down. As you can see what was the heart of community cafe if now an empty shell after 2 floods in 2 days

Monday 17th February was their 2nd Anniversary of running Dale End Cafe. Instead of cake, smiles & celebrations - they spent the day in sludge, water & heart break

Their hearts broken with their cafe destroyed

Community rallied around as they are throughout the town & helped as much as they could practically to clear the devastation. Then today it has flooded again currenty completely flooded again

Now the question everyones asking - can they / will they re-open?

The answer is hopefully YES - with everyone’s help

They are a small cafe - with a huge heart. Always greet with a smile & from visiting its apparent they are loved by many many locals. Many elderly go daily for a cuppa & chat. How long a cuppa lasts doesnt matter they‘re a lifeline

Their motto is ‘come & say hello’ & I want many many more to be able to do so

Please if you can make a small donation towards the regeneration of the cafe & supporting Sharon & Chris to rebuild the current broken heart in Coalbrookdale I would be so grateful

Let’s show some local love & support

Hi everyone The cafe had opened a mobile catering van while the cafe was closed. That had to be closed due to Covid19. Taking into consideration all guidelines the mobile unit re opened a week ago for take away only. Then....... disaster hit AGAIN. A 4th flood on Sunday. I cannot begin to explain how sad I felt talking to Chris & Sharon & seeing the destruction again. So they start again ....... if you are able to donate we would be eternally grateful Let’s suppiet our community cafe Thanks in advance Julie x💗

9th March A busy weekend at the cafe. The pop up cafe was a great idea & lots of community came to say hello. So did BBC Breakfast TV, We Are Free Radio, BBC NEWS, ....... and I was interviewed this morning by the lovely Clare & Eric on BBC Radio Shropshire. Everyone’s so so grateful for all donations towards my £5000 goal. With 3 floods now costs to restore are heading towards £10,000 so this will be a huge help . Thank you all again Please keep spreading the word - Community love will get them reopened soon I’m sure Julie x💗
