    Story

In 1922 a Potts Memorial Clock was commissioned and installed at Dacre Braithwaite CE Primary School. This was installed in memory of the 6 ex-pupils who lost their lives in WW1. Since then the clock has been a continual reminder of the sacrifice made by these six pupils in losing their lives for the freedom of our country.

In 2003 an extension to the school was added which effectively blocked the clock from being seen at the school. We are now seeking to re-locate the clock to a new site on the school premises where it can be enjoyed by all pupils and visitors to this remote community school.

A fantastic boost to our fundraising with a pledge of £5000 from the Matthew Nelson Braithwaite Educational Trust. This has significantly improved the run towards our target. Work is already underway this half term in removing the clock and its workings so that they can be serviced and renovated to full working order before being re-installed in August. Thank you also to Glad Rags Boutique who ran a fundraising evening a couple of weeks back and raised £400 for the clock and £400 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Great cause worth supporting in memory of the lives lost in this small rural community during WW1 and 2
