Story

In September 2020 Mid-Sussex District Council closed the last remaining community hall and facility, Clair Hall, in Mid-Sussex. This venue was used for a wide variety of community events and activities spanning all age groups and demographics. At present there is no suitable replacement facility locally for miles.

The council suggest that they are keen to 'explore the business case for a new purpose built facility to serve the community', but have given no firm commitment to seeing this process through, merely seemingly empty rhetoric. They have form on this, having done the same to the Martlets Hall in Burgess Hill only recently.

Our aim is to take the risk out of this process and ensure that Mid-Sussex get's a replacement for Clair Hall and Martlets Hall in Burgess Hill too. By donating to this cause you are assisting our efforts to fund and influence the process.

In the event that the council are good to their word, all donations will be invested into improving the facilities provided. If not and we do not reach our target, then your kind donation will be shared among local good causes in line with the donations given by the local annual charity pantomime, The Weald Theatre Group, who have given all profits to local good causes for 78 years!
