Story

Glioblastomas (GBM) are tumors that arise from astrocytes—the star-shaped cells that make up the “glue-like,” or supportive tissue of the brain. These tumors are usually highly malignant (cancerous) because the cells reproduce quickly and they are supported by a large network of blood vessels.

The sad news that a dear friend of mine, Curtis Jacques, aged 43 and father of 2 beautiful children has been diagnosed with this, has left me wanting to help and support him as much as I can, every little helps right. I have put together this crowd funded project in order to help him fund the medication he needs and offer him and his children the support they need.

Avastin is commonly used in the cure for cancer and is not cheap. Unfortunately due to the high prices it is not available here in the UK through our own NHS, however in 2017 trials were concluded and 25% of patients who had received the treatment survived longer than 3 years from start of the new treatment.

I believe that with yours and others support we can help him reach his target and get his prescription giving him a better chance.

Please help me to support Curtis and his children!
