Story

I am taking on an Ironman triathlon on the 2nd of July to raise money for the Alpha-1 Foundation through sponsorship and donations. The Ironman event consists of a 3.8km open water swim, 180km bike course, and running a marathon. The event is taking place in and around Bolton, which makes for a very hilly cycle and run!

As many of you know, our son Lando was diagnosed with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency last year when he was a few months old.

Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha 1/A1AD) causes damage to the liver and later the lungs as people grow up. There is currently no cure.

The Alpha-1 Foundation is a leading global charity and has invested $90 million to support Alpha-1 research and programs at 123 institutions in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. The reason I have chosen to support them is simple: The main goal is to fund research to find a cure.

Thanks in advance for any support you are able to give.

Due to the Foundation being an international charity it is not possible for JustGiving to make your donation directly to the charity, I will make the donation for the final amount personally.
