Story

Hi, my names David and I’m 16 years old,

I have had cerebral palsy diplegia for the entirety of my life. This affects both of my legs and right hand meaning I am not able to walk independently; this also means I struggle to do things such as writing. When I was 6 years old I had an operation in the USA and it changed my life as it enabled me to be able to walk with support which I was not able to do prior to this operation, along with other things.

I shall never be able to walk independently, but over the years I have to come to realise that walking is not the be all and end all, and that I am still able to enjoy life in the same way everybody does, I just have to sit down!

I was very fortunate in that I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go and have this special surgery in the USA. For me to give someone else the opportunity It would mean the world as it would improve their ability to walk and ultimately improve their chances of living their life to the fullest. We aim to raise £70'000 from different events and through your generous support. One of these events is for me to walk just over 5km, this feat will include extremely rough terrain and will take me 18 hours.

In advance thank you to anyone who donates!
