Story

We are an award-winning Scottish dance display team with members from across the UK. Our team, with its live band of specialist musicians, aims to showcase and preserve vital cultural traditions by teaching and performing Scottish dance at the highest level.

Naturally our costumes are integral to our performances. We wear several different costumes which have been designed to reflect the rich tartans and traditions of Scotland. Each costume is made by hand and costs approximately £350-400 for a woman. Each dancer has at least two costumes so it costs a minimum of £700 to dress a new team member. Men's costumes cost considerably more, approx. £1,000.

New team members are of course vital to keeping the tradition alive. And now we have run out of fabric! We urgently need funds in order to buy more tartan and velvet so as to be able to make much needed waistcoats, skirts, plaids, etc.

For a woman’s costume, a new skirt costs approximately £100, a new waistcoat £150, a new plaid £50 and a blouse £20, plus dress-making fees. We need to buy material in bulk so as to keep costs as low as possible hence this epic fundraising effort.

Thank you so much in advance for any contribution you are able to give towards new costumes. This will enable us to celebrate and preserve Scottish traditions for years to come!
