Story
Crisis Rescue Foundation (CRF) is providing critical services to help in Crisis situations across the UK, and more recently abroad - this work has been ongoing on a daily basis since Spring 2020. We rely on your support.
Our initiatives have included:
I) Provision of PPE and medical devices to frontline services and patients;
II) The Urgent Oximeter Response Service- a free, pan London 7 day a week service delivering oxygen saturation probes to patients' homes by a team of dedicated bikers and with the support of the Royal Free Hospital;
iii) the Covid Crisis Rescue Volunteer Team, at the peak of the pandemic numbering nearly 90 volunteers distributing food donated by London eateries 5 days a week to NHS staff at busy London hospitals;
IV) The Vaxi Taxi Project delivering health and wellbeing pop ups units across London, including at festivals, faith, community and asylum seeker centres, as well as homeless shelters, and transporting people without access to private transport to these pop ups, thereby making health and wellbeing infromation and signposting more accessible for high risk groups, and addressing inequalities of health;
V) HELP INDIA NOW THINK TANK PROJECT , a coalition of UK and India based clinical and non-clinical experts, to support ongoing efforts in India to manage the pandemic, including by means of 'COVID Clinical Conversations'- the development of clinical resources for professionals and the public, including to inform the establishment of pulse oximetry at home pathways, and to deliver wellbeing support, as well as to assist in the sourcing of medical equipment supplies;
VI) UGANDA CLINICAL SUPPORT project, a group of UK and Uganda based clinicians and associated professionals working to support frontline clinicians in the midst of the COVID pandemic in Uganda, by fundraising for medical essentials and providing peer support as needed.
VII) On 04/04/22 Crisis Rescue Foundation established the Crisis Rescue Foundation Medical School U.K. Elective Programme with the aim of taking the pressure off Ukraine Medical Schools' lecturers trying to deliver online lectures to students both in the Ukraine and those who've been displaced from the Ukraine to locations globally. Some lecturers have had to leave their bunkers to deliver lectures, and this work has taken colleagues away from the priorities of survival in the midst of a war situation.
More recently the CRF Medical School U.K. Elective Programme, which is the only international, free, online medical education and peer/wellbeing support institution of its kind has grown to include trainee and qualified doctors from across the globe, whose medical education has been disrupted due to war and other local crises. CRF has collaborated with overseas medical schools' lecturers, including in Ukraine and Sudan, to structure the Programme.
We currently have over 250 U.K. experienced medical lecturers who have signed up to help, most of whom are educators in U.K. teaching hospitals or primary care.
Over 2500 students located worldwide, including Ukraine and Sudan, have registered for the Programme. We have so far seen daily student lecture attendance of several hundreds, with over 21,000 overwhelmingly positive student feedback responses received to date.
In addition, we have also supported around 50 of our students who have been displaced to the U.K. in achieving clinical placements in this country, to help support their studies and the NHS.
We want to continue to grow the Programme and need more lecturers in all fields of medical school studies to achieve this. In addition, we are keen to create more clinical placement opportunities for refugee medics hoping to work in the NHS.
Please contact CRF if you can offer any support, including admin or IT help, or have any queries or comments,
We depend on donations to keep building on this crucial work and we will continue to provide these services for as long as we have the resources to do so.

Thank you so much for providing us with essential PPE when we needed it the most. The GPs , nurses and HCAs feel so much safer knowing they will be able to care for their patients but also keep themselves safe during this very uncertain time. Not sure how you have achieved this so quickly but we couldn’t be more thankful.

5 years agoCovid Crisis Rescue (UK) is proud to announce the very generous support of VCMT (bit.ly/2RHXtw8). VCMT's donation to our campaign will help us continue our vital work: (i) ensuring our #NHSheroes are protected during this unprecedented situation, with enough FFP2 respirator masks and face shields for over 2,000 frontline workers; and, (ii) providing 1,000 oxygen monitors to those most vulnerable to #Covid19. We are incredibly grateful for VCMT’s support. #vcmt #vcmttrading
