Story
COOKHAM SOS was formed in March to support those in need during self-isolation. We're evolving the page and group to continue our work in uplifting, helping and reminding those people that they're not alone in these times and that we, as a whole community are there for them.
Our original network of Volunteers are now fully connected with their neighbours and micro groups are still being formed to achieve special days, moments and glimpses of hope for brighter days. Your donation hugely helps to support these gestures and keeps this wonderful community spirit alive.
Thank you.

4 years agoFOODSHARE AND THE BRETT FOUNDATION Foodshare and The Brett Foundation have needed our support too. Whilst they are Maidenhead based organisations, we have to appreciate that under-priviledged families do exist in Cookham and these families are supported by these organisations. Cookham residents do a brilliant job and continue to donate to our 6 Foodshare boxes, we also need funds for fresh food supplies to prepare hot meals for children who may otherwise be without.

4 years agoKEEP COOKHAM TIDY KEEP COOKHAM TIDY Another injection of money was desperately need to fun litter picking equipment for Keep Cookham Tidy, desperately necessary to keep on top of the dire problem of rubbish left around the village. Cookham SOS volunteers came out in force to help grow and support the scheme which benefits the whole community. Whilst we now have amazing sponsorship from Cookham Waste to support this, we need to keep kit topped up to ensure that we can keep our village wombles safe.

4 years agoWHY WE NEED YOUR HELP The donations have helped in so many ways and as we're set up as a low-key, non-registered charity, this sadly means that we're not eligible for funding from government or council sources. To date, we have managed to fund a stream of necessary financial support to various individuals and families who have struggled to put food on the table. We also continue to do uplift days where we distribute small token gifts to remind people that we are there to help. Feedback has told us how vital this connection is to so many.

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about this very thing. There are still vulnerable people out there that are isolating and have not seen their families for months. Thank you🙏
