Story

Well folks....we did it!! Started at 10.20 had a pitstop at 36 miles at 1.30 and then the final leg was 12.5 miles and we arrived back at Beaulieu at 3.45pm. It was a very warm day which made it extra challenging but there was a great feeling of camaraderie which helped us all keep going.

Huge thanks again to everyone who has supported us to raise well beyond our target amount. We are all thrilled and it means the Flourish in Nature van can have a new step and safety rail. Hurray!

Good evening.

Well we did a final training ride this evening which was beautiful warm and sunny. 28 miles in just under 2 hours 20. The forecast for Sunday is very warm dry and sunny - perfect although maybe a little too warm. Well done to my fellow cyclists who have also been out training. A few photos shared below.

Just under two weeks to go until we set off on our cycling challenge. I've added a newspaper article below, from today's Bournemouth Echo. Hopefully a last push for support will help me reach our funding target! Thanks again to everyone for your incredible support so far.

Hello just wanted to update you all that I have done a couple of training sessions so one was 28 miles and then the other 21. I have been absolutely amazed by everyone's generosity which has meant we have already hit our original target of £1000 and for this reason I've decided to increase it to £1500.

Thank you so much to everybody who has donated so far.

I'm fundraising to support Flourish in Nature which is an Community Interest Company for adults with additional needs/learning disabilities. They help people access the outdoors with all it's benefits for mental and physical health. There is lots more information on their website https://www.flourishinnature.org.uk

I've known Paul and Lisa for over 3 years, Paul is my support worker at my gardening job in the New Forest. Paul is an amazing guy because he has brought me a massive amount of confidence in my work life. He understands my disability and helps the people I work with to understand my needs.

I have also done some volunteering with Flourish in Nature with the National Park Authority in the New Forest. This was hard work but great fun and I met some of the other people who Paul and Lisa support.

I've decided to challenge myself to cycle 75 kilometres around the New Forest to raise much needed funds for Flourish in Nature. Cycling with me on Sunday 24 May will be my Dad, my brother, some of my uncles and some family friends.

Please donate if you can to support Paul and Lisa so they can continue with their wonderful work. Funds raised will be put towards an 'accessable' motorized step to make getting in and out of Flourish in Nature's welfare van easier for their groups.
