Story
The Friends of Coney Hall Park, in the London Borough of Bromley are still fundraising for the next part of ‘Play for All’, our biggest and most ambitious project. We need lots of support, so please help us. We have now raised approximately £83,000 in addition to this fundraising page, but we need a bit more to totally complete Phase Two.
In May 2024 we completed Phase One, the creation of a fun ‘learn to ride’ circuit for young children with three concrete table tennis tables alongside. The removal of two fences, laying of a new path and planting trees has already enhanced the visual appearance of this area and in time the trees will provide a new habitat for wildlife. This new development has really put Coney Hall on the map, with so many new visitors and local families having fun and meeting friends.
The response to this area has been phenomenal, with lots of positive comments from local residents. It has been wonderful to see children of all ages, teenagers and adults all playing in one area, whether cycling, using scooters, roller skates, skateboards or playing table tennis. There really is something for everyone, even if it is just sitting on a bench and watching others having fun!
We have just received £20,000 from the National Lotteries Community Fund so this means that PHASE TWO of our project will start soon! This involves re-developing an unused area of hard standing and building a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) where youngsters can play football or basketball. The order for the MUGA will be placed by the end of March 2025, with installation hopefully in the summer. This facility, together with the table tennis tables installed in May 2024 will ensure our park caters for all ages, including teenagers and young adults. A seating area will provide a safe place for them to sit and chat with friends, or for parents whilst watching younger children play. We really need your support now, to get the seating area installed. This, together with some new planting will be the final element of our exciting and long awaited project. What an achievement it will be.
PARTNERS AND TIMESCALE - The Friends of Coney Hall Park will continue to work: with Idverde, Bromley Council and several organisations including the Resident's Association, EACH, Parklands Nursery, Nash College, St John's Church, local schools and guide / scout groups. The anticipated timescale is for full completion by the end of summer / early Autumn 2025.
Please support our exciting 'Play for all' project in any way you can, so that we all benefit from this wonderful initiative! If you don't want to make a cash donation but would rather support us in some other way, such as planting a new wildlife habitat, please email coneyhallfophotmail.com. or phone 0208 462 0671
Together, we will continue to make a real difference!

Friends of Coney Hall Park
5 months agoConey Hall Park was transformed this summer with so many people, of all ages, enjoying the new cycle route, table tennis tables and benches. It has all proved to be so popular! The Friends of Coney Hall Park weren't responsible for the refurbished tennis courts. That was done by Bromley Council with the help of a grant from the Lawn Tennis Association. However, it was us who ensured that these courts would be accessible to all, including wheelchair users, for the first time. Now we focus on building an exciting new ball court, can you help?
