Story
Hurricane Maria struck our home and the island of Dominica on the unforgettable night of 18th September 2017. Everyone on the island has been affected and in turn everyone has asked how they can help us to help them. There is definitely no quick fix to help the island and people but any contributions to ease the pain and bring some level of comfort and support within the next 6 months, will definitely improve quality of life. Essentially that's all any of us can really do right now.
We have thought long and hard about this and there are two communities which are very close to our hearts - the one we live in - Kingshill and the primary school which all 3 of our children attended in Pointe Michel - St Luke's Primary. Over the years, I have taught there, fund raised and tutored one very special child (who tragically lost his life the night of the hurricane).
Without the support and intervention of our friends in Kingshill we could not have been evacuated out with our children. Without St Luke's Primary School, our children would not be the 'Dominican' resilient children they have become today.
We are returning in January and will use the funds received to directly help both of these communities.

We lost you for 48 hrs having watched an Instagram post of the storm hitting. We were relieved to know you were all safe. What could be more important? We hope for a speedy rebuild for the Islanders.
