Story
Unfortunately, local legend Dave 'Cockle Man' Bartram has been injured in a car crash and is worried that he's going to lose everything over Christmas. At the age of 73, Cockle Man suffered a crash last Monday, potentially breaking ribs and his sternum, and is unable to work while he recovers in hospital.
Having sold prawns, cockles and mussels every day of the week since 1964, Cockle Man has become a well-known figure on the streets of Nottingham.
We know Christmas is a difficult financial time for a lot of us as it is, but if you can spare something toward helping a local legend through his time of difficulty, it will go a long way to helping Cockle Man get back on his feet.

5 years agoHaving received several emails and messages offering a contrasting story to that presented in the Nottingham Post article about Cockle Man's car crash, we are suggesting that people no longer contribute to this page (we are unable to suspend donations manually). Having made our own enquiries, we will wait until we have more information before acting accordingly. If necessary, we will of course refund money to everyone that has donated. Thanks LeftLion
