Story
Dad joined Thurrock Rugby Club in 1973 when he was too old to continue playing a high level of football!
He quickly settled into his position in the front row and Captained the 5th team for a few seasons. He later became the Team Secretary managing the selection of the 7 teams the club was running at that team. We always took our shifts behind the bar, in both the old and new clubhouse and he spent many Sunday mornings with a bucket at the new club ground, hand picking stones out of the first team pitch. He later became the Match secretary organising the referees etc.
In the last few years the rugby club had been a mainstay to his weekly schedule with Rugby on Saturday, watching the T-Birds on a Sunday (home or away). Plus he seemed to have adopted a number of extra children as he has become the club 'Dad'.
