Update - We are funded
We are 100% funded! Thank you all so much. We will leave this fundraiser open. Any money raised above £2,500 will go into our general funds.
Original appeal:
Claverton Pumping Station is a unique volunteer-run museum just outside Bath. We maintain the Grade I listed, waterwheel-powered pumping station that dates from 1813.

The pump needed the power to pump 100,000 gallons of water an hour into the canal to keep it topped up, and so it was built by a fast flowing part of the River Avon. Unfortunately this means that every year we must deal with flooding:

From October-March, our downstairs needs to be cleared to minimise flood damage. With little space in the pumphouse itself we rely on our outbuilding to store signs, benches, and parts of our machine enclosure for the winter. However our largest outbuilding has all but collapsed:

Our outbuildings are up the bank from the pumphouse, getting them out of flood water for all but the worst floods. With this money will be able to build a strong raised outbuilding that can survive even the worst floods. It will provide us with a space for winter storage. It will also give us space to store materials that we need (such as the wood) to keep the pumping station preserved for future generations.
