Story

Class Divide is a non-political community campaign working to improve educational outcomes for children growing up in East Brighton.Data shows that young people from Whitehawk, Manor Farm and Bristol Estate are half as likely to achieve basic GCSE grades compared to the rest of Brighton & Hove.

We work closely with teachers, schools, university's and the wider community to create meaningful change in our education system. The funding will support our research, community engagement and advocacy work, helping us build stronger connections between schools and local residents while pushing for systemic improvements.

The campaign was founded in 2019 after discovering that, despite decades of initiatives, the attainment gap between our community and the rest of the city remains stark. We're not about blame or politics - we're a diverse group of local residents, people who grew up and were educated in East Brighton, and education experts from across the UK, all working together to ensure every child gets a fair chance at education, regardless of their postcode.

Every donation helps us continue our vital work with educators and community members while advocating for long-term systemic change. Together, we can build an education system that works for everyone, not just the privileged few.

Please support our work to give East Brighton's children the educational opportunities they deserve. Thank you.
