Story

Hi Everyone, on 13th October I'll be taking part in the Manchester Half Marathon and I'm hoping to raise some money to help my best mate Lauren, who is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and going through so much with her illness right now. Lauren has CRPS and, lets be honest, it's ruining her life, even though you wouldn't think it from whenever you're around her. The current plan now is amputation, which, many people won't understand but she is so happy that the NHS have finally agreed to and is desperate to have as soon as possible. Simply put, this will change her life and give her so much independence back. Once she has the operation, she will be provided with a prosthetic leg from the NHS which is amazing, but Lauren wants to get back to the gym and running and doing all the things she loved before. So my hope, is to raise some money to help her purchase a prosthetic blade so she can do just that. I'd greatly appreciate anything you are able to give which will help towards this goal. It breaks my heart to see what she deals with day to day and not being able to help but I'm hoping this is one thing that will really make a difference once she has recovered from the op. Thanks so much, Clare
