I've raised £300 to Help fundraise for the Leavers Department of a School for Disabled Children

PLEASE NOTE - 5% of the money raised is taken from the donations by JustGiving !!!!!
Heronsbridge is a school for disabled children situated in Bridgend, South Wales. The leavers department is a crucial part of the school which helps the transition of the children leaving the school environment and entering the adult working world. These children need to leave school having learnt skills that will aid them in their everyday adult life whether this be cooking, home economics, speech and language and understanding basic money management.
Raising money for the leavers department will enable these students to have access to more sporting and extra-curricular activities which will aid them successfully integrate into society and also give the children an opportunity to have outside tuition for specialised courses.
Some children will just need to develop confidence, speech and language or fine motor skills which can be done in drama and music classes. Others may want to take part in preparation courses for part-time work or complete further education in associated colleges.
With the help of my Sixth Form College, we are doing a number of fundraising activities to help raise money to help fund such a crucial part of these children’s lives including a sponsored 15 hour Physics lesson and an “odd socks day”.
With my brother currently attending the leavers department, I can truly say that the work they put into to helping these kids is admirable and after speaking with teachers and the department lead, having a bigger budget to go off will only help to enhance the child’s educational experience!
Any donations would be greatly appreciated!!
Please help us reach our goal!
