    Story

We are a not for profit, voluntary led community interest company . We support adults across Derby City who are experiencing:

Low to medium Mental Health needs

    Community isolation & Loneliness

    Poor / unsafe living conditions

We have an outreach service for people that may have barriers in connecting with the community and complete home visits where agreed to support people in their own home.

Our hubs and community cafe are designed to bring the community together, get to know one another and have a cuppa, food and or take part in an event.

Over the last 12 months it has become really apparent that this service is so vital. Bridging the gap for those who need support but seldom get it due to long waiting lists and not fitting the criteria because service providers are so stretched. We have already helped so many people and had amazing feed back.

*I was introduced to Clearmind by My Doctors Practice, Social Prescriber.

I was a tad anxious at allowing people into the home, to do things I could not manage at the moment through illness and bereavement.

I need not have worried. Reena and all her colleagues, are so kind, warm, thoughtful and a joy to be around. They have through their tireless efforts turned the house back into a home doing things I am currently unable to do, from cleaning, washing up, hoovering and countless other tasks, from the bathroom, kitchen, breakfast room, living room & are back to brand spanking new. The advice they give on topics is far ranging and is precise and given freely, from assurance re hospital apts to help in applying for things such as entitled benefits and they are genuinely interested in my health.

This organisation is a credit to its founder and all that have come here. I cannot speak highly enough of all of those that have visited here. They are preforming a range of activities, that one would normally have to go through adult social care who’s resources are scant, and demand ends up on a list.

Their depth of knowledge and care is boundless and are in fact performing the duties of a Social Worker, yet probably much better, as You cant get one for love nor money. They are performing a vital task in joining up the dots in a system that is broken.

By Clearmind s efforts they are helping ensure that people don’t fall down the cracks in a system that is problematic to say the very least and they do it in a holistic one to one manner, the way it should be done. They are never judgemental, and see the person in the whole, and never by the issues at play.

Why this organisation isn’t funded properly is beyond me, yet its role is vital.I think its fair to say, without Clearmind hard work on all issues, I too may have fallen down one of those cracks as the official system safety net is broken and fragmented. Clearmind have filled this void, that is incredible in its own right, yet the way Reena and colleague’s operate, your a person, not a number or a job lot, they are doing what the system should be doing, yet I personally am so grateful for all Reena and Colleagues help, advice, they have become that “social safety net”.*

*After dreading coming to the course I was instantly put at ease. All of the staff were really welcoming. The information was really needed and I feel better*

*I found today's session really helpful and I am really grateful for the opportunity to talk freely about my situation amongst people who understand. There wasn't any judgement in the room and I felt so supported. I will most definitely attend future sessions*

*It was really supportive and a lot of information and was nice to speak about what is going on in life*

*I don't know how to thank you for getting my sister out of a bad place and finding her somewhere to live. I am so glad my sister is warm and safe*

Our aim is to be able to help as many people as we can across Derby and to do so we NEED your help.

If you can donate anything, no matter how small it will make a difference.
