Hi there, myself and Cara have decided to organise a fundraiser for 2 Charities, Children's Heartbeat Trust and Ronald McDonald House.. Together with our close family and friends we've decided to run Belfast Marathon on 5th May, entering 2 relay teams along with myself running the full 26.2 miles.
For those of you that don't know, our son James was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. To find this out at what was supposed to be a routine 20 week anamoly scan was a massive shock for Cara and myself. James would require major surgery in his first year to help prolong his life. This would be carried out in Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin, under the incredible expertise of Dr Jonathan McGuinness. On 23rd November last year, James underwent his surgery and we're delighted to share that James is doing great and is going from strength to strength.. He will require more surgery when a bit older but to see him now, growing stronger day by day, is an absolute miracle.. There are so many people we'd like to thank, too many to mention actually, but to Dr Rehab in Belfast and Dr McGuinness in Dublin, we are so, so grateful for everything yous have done and continue to do. We'll be forever indebted to you all.
We would really appreciate it if you could help in any way possible, big or small, to raise some much needed funds for these 2 Charities that helped us so much over the past 18 months. Whether it was Children's Heartbeat up North here or Ronald McDonald House in Dublin, their help and contributions meant everything to us and made a really stressful and worrying period in our lives that little bit easier. We'd always heard of these charities but it was only after James' diagnosis that they became real to us. So, any donation, large or small would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you so so much..
