I've raised £5000 to keep our rescued animals fed through the winter

Winter is the most expensive time of year for us, and after weeks of heavy rain the grass has practically disappeared. This has forced us to double our hay store. Animal sanctuaries like ours suffer particularly badly in the winter, because we make no profit from the animals we care for. We rely entirely on donations to give them a good life, free from exploitation and harm. The cold weather can be deadly for our 450+ sheep, so we also need to supplement their diet with additional foods that costs many hundreds of pounds every week.
Our emergency funds were wiped out in 2018, when we were forced to use our winter hay supply during summertime. Since then it has been a struggle to stay open. The struggle continues this winter. Christmas is a time for giving, and these animals deserve all the help we can give them. Because of people like you, 76-year old Carole Webb and the team here at Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary in Warwickshire (UK) have been rescuing farm animals for over 30 years, and can continue to into the future.
It takes a lot of effort, time and money to care for rescued animals, and to give them not just what they want, but what they need. We won’t let anything stop us, especially not the English weather! Every single life here at FARS – each sheep, goat, pig, chicken, bird and rabbit – is precious, and means everything to Carole and our volunteers.
Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received. Anybody who has visited our animals, or adopts one of them through our online scheme, will know what amazing individuals they all are.
Thank you and Happy Christmas from everyone at Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary xx
