Story

For the past 35 years Wesley Chapel in Harrogate has run a Christmas Day lunch for up to 120 members of the community. This lunch has offered a community space, company and a good meal for people who might otherwise spend Christmas on their own. Those who attend the lunch party are primarily elderly, lonely, homeless, or generally in need of support. All guests are offered a full Christmas dinner, entertainment, Christmas carol singing, and a Christmas snack before being transported home.

Sadly, this year we are unable to provide a Christmas Day lunch due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Instead, we are organising hampers, which will be delivered to the door of our guests on the 25th of December. We hope it will brighten up their day and help them feel less alone this Christmas.

We were wondering whether you could help us fill the boxes. We are asking for donations that will be used to buy food items and small gifts to fill each hamper.

Any funds that don't get used this year, will be used to secure a Christmas Day lunch or similar event next Christmas.

Thank you so much for your support.
