In August, we are planning on visiting and volunteering at Sanyu Babies Children's Home in Kampala, Uganda. It is an amazing Christian organization which takes in and cares around 50 children (but often more) who are aged between 1 day and 4 years old. Many of the children are found abandoned in pit latrines, taxi ranks or are left by the side of the road by parents who are unable to cope or take care of them.

Sanyu Babies Home operates as an independent organisation. It receives no regular financial support from any church or organisation so the lives of the children at Sanyu rely entirely on donations to provide food, clothing and shelter.

Whilst in Uganda, we will be staying and working at the home but in the meantime we plan to raise some money which we can donate to help the work and care of the children continue. Over the next few months we will be holding some coffee mornings, boot sales and walking Helvellyn in The Lake District.

Anything donated will be going to a real worthy cause which helps to give small children a more promising start in the world.
