I've raised £4000 to to help fund Poppy’s vet care and operation

Very tragically yesterday we found our next door elderly neighbour deceased in her home. Poppy is her adorable little miniature poodle. The paramedics told us that Yolande the lady had been there at least a week until we found her. Poppy Hadnt left her side. We found her laying cuddled up next to her Mum. When we managed to get her out of the house she was clearly very seriously malnourished and dehydrated. She was unable to walk or even stand up and also quite clearly traumatised after being on her own for so long. Both of her eyes were shut completely covered with awful dried up secretions. Being Poppys dog groomer and neighbour we took her straight in, got fluids and food down her, bathed her and clipped off her coat that was severly matted and covered in excritement. Poppy seemed to brighten up slightly but it was quite obvious there was something wrong with her eyes. We decided that it was not an option for her to go to any kennels or rescue centre so my sister who was only home for the weekend made the decision to take her home to Derby to live with her. We booked her in to the vets for the following morning, took a quick trip to pets at home to get her everything she needed and she was on her way to her new home full with love and the care she needed. Unfortunately Poppy took a turn for the worst Last night and had to be rushed to the emergency vets. She is currently on a drip and will need one of her eyes removing as it is has a perferated ulcer. It is unclear whether the other eye is ok yet. The vet told us that if she hadnt been found or taken to the vets last night she wouldnt have survived another night. Yolande her owner unfortunately had no relatives or friends around her at all and the emergency services werent overly interested in the care of Poppy. Her vet bill Is going to run into the 1000s so im hoping that we can get as much help as possibly towards her treatment and ongoing care. Any help would be gratefully recieved. Lets help Poppy get better and live out her last days surrounded by love and with all the care she needs.
Thank you,
Christie
