Help with essentials for new mums near the eastern front

I started this campaign on behalf of Chris Murphy.

In villages and small towns of Kharkiv Oblast', near Ukraine's eastern front, life's so hard for anyone. But it's even worse for new mums and their babies. Expecting mothers are sent to the Chuhuiv maternity hospital. Located just 20 km south-east of Kharkiv, it became a vital hub for the east of Kharkiv Oblast'. Together with her friends, Chris have been supporting them since May. We know doctors and nurses by name, and we know first hand what is going on.

Urgent need

There's an urgent need to help new mums from small settlements of Kharkiv Oblast'. Those areas were occupied and terrorised by the Russians for seven months. Luckily Ukraine took them back, but now people struggle to make ends meet. New mums from villages don't need a bulky box, like we get in Scotland. They need an essential set they can carry home.

Mums Bags

That's why this November Chris Murphy is bringing 40 "Mums Bags" - sets of mum and baby essentials packed into a backpack. She will take them to Chuhuiv personally, together with Oleg and David - her friends and volunteers from Sunflower Scotland (https://sunflowerscotland.co.uk). They are taking a van with supplies all the way from Edinburgh to Chuhuiv.

Being a mother herself, Chris designed Mums Bags very carefully. Each bag comes with 38 essential items, including handmade blankets and baby clothes, shampoo, southers, nail clippers, sudocream, sleepsuit, etc. etc.

How you can help

Chris worked really hard to get the best value for money, but baby stuff isn't cheap. It costs £67.10 to kit each Mums Bag. She did as many as She could, but it's tough for her to do it on her own.

Please help Chris prepare more Mums bags - her target is 40 - and donate as much as you can. I'll be grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small. Thank you so much!
