Iʼve raised £165 to help fund a trip to Kenya to support a school in a town called Nakuru. We'll be building classrooms, teaching and cooking for the children.

    Story

In October 2017 I and a group of volunteers, from my school Ely College, will be travelling to a town called Nakuru. We will be travelling with African Adventures to help with an ongoing project that my school visit every year. This year I have chosen to go and make a difference.
Nakuru is a town that lies in poverty and the average family lives on about 15p a day as well as relying on the local rubbish dump to sustain their needs. Some even live there with no real house of their own. Very little children have the chance to go to school in this area because there aren't enough classrooms or supplies in the local school and there is simply not the funs to build more. This is what we are volunteering to do.
We want to help finish another classroom so that more children can come to school. An education is vital for these children as it helps them secure a brighter and less vulnerable future, that is also sustainable. As well as this the school provides the children with one meal a day which they may not receive at home.
Another part of the trip includes myself and other volunteers teaching and playing with the children to provide a more fun and interactive way of learning and hopefully allow them to have more fun at school. We will also do outdoor activities and coach them to playing team sports and gain new skills.
To be able to take part in this event I have to raise all the funds myself. I am doing this in numerous ways and this page is one of those. Please donate anything you can spare to help me raise the £1800 that I need to go, I would really really appreciate it.
