Story
Please help Chiltonians make a case.......
The corridor for the Oxford to Cambridge Expressway was announced in September 2018, it will be "broadly aligned" with the proposed East-West rail route from Abingdon to south Milton Keynes via Winslow. It is yet to be decided whether the route will pass west or east of Oxford.
Within this corridor are 3 possible routes. The Chilton Action Group and Chilton Parish Council are working alongside the Expressway Action Group (EAG) to oppose the Oxford-Cambridge Expressway route B3, which could come right through Chilton Parish.
There is an URGENT need to raise funds for the research and studies which need to be undertaken as a matter of urgency to be able to submit for the consultation period later this year. If we go empty-handed, we will have no defence, making this action of the highest importance.
One study has already been commissioned but funds are urgently needed to ensure to can be continued and sufficient evidence can be generated to make the case for protecting our precious countryside and avoid 12 years of uncertainty, disruption and adverse impact on property prices before a new road opens in 2030.
The Parish Council has added a special web page for us to share all the information and background regarding this project. We encourage you to visit this site and review all of the links, documents and articles to ensure you are fully informed about this project at the earliest opportunity

6 years agoA huge thank you to EVERYONE who has helped us reach this milestone so quickly If you could spread the word with Friends and Neighbours to give us the final push towards our target it would be very much appreciated. Watch out for the "No Expressway" signs which will be popping up in and around the village in the coming weeks

I can’t believe anyone thinks this road is a good idea, let alone putting it through this beautiful countryside. It must be stopped.
