Story

Breast Cancer is not a death sentence. Early detection saves life.

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death for women in Africa. The cost of cancer care may be of concern if you or your family member has been diagnosed with cancer of any kind. Many breast cancer symptoms are invisible and not noticeable without a professional screening, but some symptoms can be caught early by just being proactive about your breast. Therefore, early detection includes carrying out a regular breast self-exams and scheduling for a regular clinical breast examinations and ultra sound scan/mammogram.

I am a stage 3 breast cancer survivor and I am thriving. Having survived the dreadful disease, I found a voice to helping other women in Africa (Nigeria) who are unable to pay for a simple breast ultra sound/mammogram.

Part of making this a reality in this month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness month), I am embarking on a 100,00km walk to raise fund and I am collaborating with WIN Cancer Foundation (a Nigerian non-profit organisation) to make this a reality for such women who cannot not afford to pay for their test that could lead to early detection.

You can be part of this awareness campaign by donating to the cause.
