We are a group of 5 medical students looking to raise money for Chikankata Mission Hospital in Chikankata, Zambia. We will be carrying out our elective placement at the hospital, as part of our medical degree. The elective placement will be 4 weeks and we will be carrying out voluntary work at the hospital assisting as we can.

The hospital itself services a catchment population of over 100,000 people, nearly all living in remote areas of the Southern Province in Zambia. In addition to the main hospital the organisation also provides community outreach clinics and services. These include; immunisation programmes for children, training for Traditional Birth Attendants and Community Health Workers, the distribution of mosquito nets, providing environmental health, clean water and sanitation plus many many more vital services.

They do this amazing work with very limited funds and therefore any money you can spare would be greatly appreciated - however big or small the donation.
We will be funding the placement ourselves so all money raised will go directly to the hospital who will use it to fund the most urgently needed resources.
