As a not for profit community cafe, our oven is always working over-time.

It is the heart of our space, where we make soup and free meals for those in need in our community. A classroom where we work with our additional needs students to cook and bake and of course, where we whip up our delicious cakes and dahls to warm your soul.

After many years of toil our dear oven is worn out and needs a rest. We need some help to buy a new oven to allow us to continue our community work and so we are asking our community if you can help.

With a new oven we can cook for more people at each sitting, giving us the opportunity to run Social Eating events - free meals for people to enjoy together in a welcoming space, a lovely way to bring the community together, reduce social isolation and improve feelings of wellbeing.

We also hope to be able to use our new oven to resume batch cooking - allowing us to provide hearty warm meals for those in our community struggling with utility costs to enjoy at home.

If we are able to raise the funds needed we will have a big curry night and you are all invited!
