As members of Pudsey St Lawrence cricket club we will be walking the yorkshire 3 peaks on Sunday 3rd October 2021 to raise money for Charles Dracup and his family. Charles (father of senior cricketer Josh) is a club supporter who - following an accident - requires specialist equipment costing over £15,000 to provide a better quality of life.

On December 27th 2019 - whilst on a family holiday in South Africa - Charles fell from a hotel balcony resulting in lifechanging injuries.

After a month in intensive care and still being in a coma he was allowed to fly home to the BRI on the 28th of January 2020. Charlie wasn’t given much hope but he carried on fighting, and even battled with Covid!  He spent six months on Ward 6 slowly showing signs of hope there was Charlie inside! He missed his 60th and Josh’s 21st!

On the 1st July 2020 he was moved to a rehabilitation Centre in York. This was a very difficult time for the family as covid restrictions meant access and visits had to be made from a distance.

On the 4th of May 2021 he came home! He struggles with short term memory so doesn’t retain information but he is still the Charlie we all know and love! His mobility is not good so is wheelchair bound. A motorised wheelchair would change the lives of Charlie, Caroline, Josh and Emma and allow them all to live life to the fullest.
