Story

Wiltshire Cricket's County Age Group Squads are currently touring the beautiful country of Sri Lanka. The tour provides a fantastic learning experience for Wiltshire's Young Cricketers both on and off the cricket field.

As part of the tour, the boys and girls teams experience a wide range of cultural and sporting activities, forming great connections with local Sri Lankan Communities, Clubs and Schools.

Following an incredibly difficult 2 years due to the pandemic, tourism is slowly returning to Sri Lanka but local Sri Lankan communities have found the pandemic to be hugely challenging. Therefore, the two squads (U16 Boys and U17 Girls) are taking on a challenge to raise £1000 to support schools in Sri Lanka by raising money to purchase Woven Cricket mats. These mats are rolled out in the middle of their school field and provides a facility for the pupils to train, play and enjoy the sport that brings them so much joy!

Wiltshire Cricket and the two squads would appreciate your support to achieve our ambitious fundraising targets, which we know will change the lives of so many young cricketers in Sri Lanka! And who knows....perhaps a future Lasith Malinga, Kumar Sangakkara or Muttiah Muralitharan will result from this fantastic fundraising effort!
