My name is Jimmy Ferrar and Im the national team manager, since i have joined the team i have seen and shared their troubles and the obstacles they face daily. The 2nd and 3rd generation Chagossians eligible to play for the national team are still going through the troubles of obtaining a british passport even though their families are natives of a British overseas territory.
My aim as manager of the side Is to help raise the funds that will give them the chance to prepare and travel to macedonia this summer and to propel Chagos islands on to the world stage and to help them keep their truly unique and beautiful culture alive and to stop the boys falling away from football and in to a life of uncertinty that they have had to live with all their life and with a constant cloud hanging over their heads of what will happen with the Chagossian people.
The need for this money is to help towards the costs of Travel and the preparation in getting to the world cup this year. We are a fully voluntary organisation and all staff and players give up their time to purely keep the Chagos name well and truly alive.
As a special thank you for all Donors, the largest donor at the end of the campaign will receive a signed Chagos world cup edition shirt from the World cup squad and management, the second largest Donor will receive a official match ball signed by the word cup squad And the Third highest donor will recieve a Chagos islands FA official training top to be signed by the Squad.
We cant thank you all enough for your support and genorosity and look forward to having your support at the world cup in #Skopje2020
Thanks Jimmy
