Story

We run a Facebook group called "Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy and -ri (related inflammation) UK Support Group" to help people living with this degenerative brain disease.

There is no known effective treatment, and over time this condition gets worse. Some patients present with a progressive dementia, involving rapid cognitive decline over days, weeks or months. There is no definitive time period as and when this happens.

Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy (CAA) is a type of cerebrovascular disorder characterised by the accumulation of amyloid within the leptomeninges and small/medium-sized cerebral blood vessels. The amyloid deposition results in fragile vessels that may manifest in brain bleeds.

There are so many people around the world with this condition I cannot put a number on it, including the UK, but we need to help raise the awareness of this disease to help support those living with CAA and their caregivers.

Please give what you can!!

Love and prayers to you all
